We begin your teeth whitening treatment with a detailed consultation. We chat about your ideal results, explain the home whitening process, and give you the chance to ask any questions. We also take a full set of x-rays so your custom whitening trays can be made, and record your current tooth colour so we can really see the difference after treatment!
When your whitening trays are ready, we show you how to apply the tooth whitening gel and safely insert them into your mouth. We give you some advice and instructions for your treatment, then it is over to you at home! You can choose to wear your whitening trays for a short amount of time in the day, or overnight, whichever suits your lifestyle best.
After your first course of treatment is complete, we see you for a follow-up appointment in our practice. We check you are happy with your whiter smile, and compare it to the initial colour of your teeth to show the difference. Occasionally, a second course of treatment is needed, so we give you more whitening gel to repeat the whitening at home process.
We give you some personalised advice on how to maintain your brighter smile for the long-term. We are happy to provide top-up treatments when necessary in the future.

If you smoke or drink a lot of coffee, tea or red wine, you may need a top-up treatment sooner.
Teeth whitening is completely safe when carried out and supervised by a qualified and experienced dental professional. We are best placed to ensure your teeth and gums remain unharmed during treatment, and only use regulated products that will not cause damage.
We recommend you leave at least a year between whitening treatments, but will give you tailored advice based on your individual case. Once your initial treatment is complete, your top-up treatments going forward can even be spaced two years apart to maintain your results.
